Monica Lynette Porter, 49, affectionately known as, “Moni”, passed away on, September 19, 2021, at St. Joseph Medical Center in, Kansas City, MO.
She was preceded in death by, her grandparents, Catherine Frazier, Baby Banks, Essie Williams, Dorothy Skillman, Willie Banks, and Melvin Porter; as well as two special cousins, Nick Graves, and Oriana Starr; and an uncle, Ronnie Porter.
Moni was born on, May 26, 1972, in Kansas City, KS to the union of, Kelvin and Alice Porter. She grew up in Kansas City, MO, where she graduated from Southeast High School. After high school Moni became certified as a CNA, a field in which she worked passionately for 28 years. She genuinely had the heart to care for others.
Moni was a firm believer in Christ and was baptized as a teenager at Christ Temple in Kansas City, MO. She loved to gather and spend time with her family and friends and she loved to laugh and make jokes out of any situation. She loved going to the casino where she was always lucky. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
In 2005 she began a relationship with the love of her life, Lamont Fleming.
She is survived by the love of her life, Lamont Fleming; her children, Markeeze (Princeton) Cobin, Mark Davis, Asis Porter, and Khalis Fleming; grandchildren, Dwayne (Tra) Collins III, Harlie Davis-Cobin, and Princeton Cobin, Jr.; mother, Alice Porter; father, Kelvin Porter; stepfather, James Lewis; sister, Chanelle Simmons-Porter; brothers, Alan Simmons-Porter, Kelvin Porter, Jr., and Kevin “Gregg” James; as well as 3 nieces; 2 nephews; 1 great-niece; 2 great-nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
