Eunice Love Obituary

Eunice S. (Downton) Love was born on March 6, 1940 to the union of Howard Downton, Sr., and Eunice Downton.  Both parents, seven brothers, Howard Jr., Harry, Fred, Walter, Lawrence, Clarence, and Jimmie Downton; four sisters, Thelma Bly, Martha Fishback, Ester Irene Nelson, and Floretta Mosby; one son, Curtis Downton; and one grandson, Andre Downton preceded her in death.

She was educated in the Kansas City Missouri School district, attending the schools Charles Sumner Elementary, RT Coles, and graduating from Manual High School.  She went to nursing school, getting her LPN license, and then began working at Menorah Hospital, and then also working at Liebson's Groceries for 15 years, and later retiring from Dazey's Corp. She then went to work at Sam's Town and Harrah's Casino's giving 10 years of service.  She became a daycare provider for her great-grandchildren until she became ill.

Eunice loved being a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. 

She also enjoyed going to the racetrack, the casino's, playing the lottery and enjoying family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memories one brother, John Downton of Kansas City, Missouri; three sons, Robert (Meza, Arizona), Glenn (Harrisonville, Missouri), and Michael Downton (Las Vegas, Nevada); three daughters, Andrea Downton (Kansas City, Missouri), Christine Knighten (Independence, Missouri), and Catherine Love (Lexington, South Carolina); fifteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, a special companion; Hartwell Fisher, and a host of family and friends.
