Charlie Clayton Wiggins Jr. (a.k.a Lil Charlie) was born May 18, 1972, at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia to Charlie and Deborah Wiggins. Charlie was educated in the Portsmouth Public School Systems and later attended Flatwoods Job Corp where he learned the trade of becoming a skilled welder. Charlie was the apple of both his grandmother’s eyes (Lillian and Edith). He was the most lovable child and could steal everyone’s hearts with just a smile. Charlie was known for his exquisite style in fashion, jewelry and his entrepreneurial spirit.
On June 25, 1997, Charlie was joined in holy matrimony to Angela Terry. Through this union, they acquired multiple storefronts in Virginia, real estate properties, a mobile detail and carpet cleaning service. Charlie was truly a jack of all trades and he never steered away from trying something new.
Charlie relocated to Kansas City, Missouri and worked as an industrial worker for many years. He was a social butterfly, loved to have a good time and sparked a conversation with anyone that he met. He had a love for rebuilding cars, dominoes, 765, spades and the river boat casino. Charlie loved to challenge his family in monopoly and poker tournaments. He loved to find other people’s “trash” and restore them to new treasures that provided a new life.
Charlie fought a long battle with his health and gained his wings on September 19, 2021. Charlie was preceded in death by his brother, Charka Christopher Wiggins. He leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife, Angela Wiggins; nine children, sons: Charlie Futrell, Deshawn Taylor, Corey Futrell, Isaiah Stephenson, Emmett Marshall; daughters: Kha’aliyah Bell, Ebony Futrell, Brandy Terry, Jasmine Terry and 14 grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving parents Charlie and Deborah Wiggins of Aubrey, Texas and one sister, Kenneshea Byers (Joe) of Little Elm, Texas; and a mother-in-law; father-in-law, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
