Willie B. Garner, Sr. was born on, February 15, 1932, in Ringgold, LA, to Edman Garner and Eula Mae Ashley. Wille was the oldest of 5 children. Willie went to Ringgold Colored High School and he accepted Christ at the Springhill CME Church, both in Ringgold, LA.

After high school, Willie enlisted in the United States Army. His rank was Private 2nd Class. Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, Willie went to work at the Armour Packing House where he was employed for 12 years. He also worked at Sunflower Ammunition Plant.

On April 1, 1956, Willie was united in holy matrimony to, Willie Grace Parker. To this union 3 children were born, Bernard, Carla, and Willie Garner, Jr. Through the years Willie became an entrepreneur. He wanted to be his own boss. That was one of his proudest accomplishments. Willie was greatly loved and respected by his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edman Garner, mother, Eula Mae Ashley, brother, Joe Garner, and youngest son, Willie B. Garner, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory 2 daughters, Carla Garner Downton, and Velma Glover; 2 sons, Bernard Garner, and Raymond Egans; 2nd mom, Christene Garner; 2 sisters, Dessie Tyson, and Essie Riley; 1 brother, Eddie Ashley; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
