William Miller Jr. Obituary

William Bert Miller Jr. (Bill), 80, Passed away on November 16, 2020, at the home. He was born February 11, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri to William B. Miller Sr and Katherine Miller.

He was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri Area.  He began working at the early ages of 14. He worked for LaSala’s Deli, the Kansas City Star, Walmart, he was a manager for Sears and Mid K Beauty Supply. Being the entrepreneur that he was, he owned a record shop, shoe store, and furniture store in the Troost Midtown area. He also had a concession stand inside of Sears Outlet and a hot dog wagon that he used for festivals. 

Over the years Bill was active in the Shriners, the President of the Troost Midtown Association, a volunteer for KCPD- Community Against Crime, Longfellow Elementary School Advisory Committee, Bernard Powell Memorial Fountain, and Harvesters Community Food Network. He also provided transportation for Central Christian Church members. In August 1955, he married Barbara Grant, to this union three children were Born: William B. Miller III, Charles V. Miller, and Diane Turner. In November 1973 he married his current wife, Linda Kay Miller, to this union three children were born, William Bradley Miller, Lisa R. Redditt, and Lacey L. Miller. 

He was preceded in death by his father, William B. Miller Sr; his mother, Katherine Miller; and brothers Uel Miller, and Thomas Miller. 

He is survived by his wife, Linda Miller; three sons, William B. Miller III (Shilinia), Charles V. Miller, and William Bradley Miller (Jean); three daughters, Diane Turner (James), Lisa Redditt (Lamar), and Lacey Miller; twenty-two grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, two brothers, James Miller, and Archie Miller; five sisters, Gwen White, Marie Smith, Rose Beeves, Valarie McCoy, Enita Miller, and a host of other relatives and friends.
