Tyrone Harvey Obituary

Deacon Tyrone E. Harvey, "Rehab T", 75, departed this life on November 23, 2020 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on May 12, 1945 in Topeka, Kansas to Arthur Lee Harvey, Jr., and Beatrice Bean. 

He was the oldest of fifteen children. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Central High School.  After high school, he began working for Goldstein Meat Company as a Meat Cutter for over twenty years.  He also worked in the health care field for several years and retired from Swope Ridge in 2009 as CNA and an Occupational Therapist. He received the first Buffalo Shoulder Award at Swope Ridge.  He continued to work at the Kansas City Star part time until his health failed in September of this year.  He was a loyal and dedicated employee to both jobs.

He was part of the Mason Organization.  Tyrone loved playing pool, Fishing, two stepping, listening to music, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He was a man of few words, but his actions and acts of love spoke very loudly. 

Tyrone married Odessa William, and to this union, seven children were born.  The marriage was later dissolved.  In 2011 he married Tamara until he departed this life.  They were happily married for nine years. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Lee Harvey, Jr., and Beatrice Bean; his stepfather, George Brown, Sr; his brothers, Arthur Harvey III, Charles Harvey, and Darrell Harvey; his sisters, Consuella Stewart, Carol Robinson, Cynthia Hervey, Janelle Byers, Laura Harvey, and Felecia Harvey; and his step son, Leon R. Hack and Andre Williams.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tamara Z. Harvey of the home; LaVell Hack (Marlean), LaVeta Hack, LaReda Hayes (Arvid), Lisa Harvey, LaNiece Harvey, LaTrese Harvey-Thomas (Lloyd); his step daughter, Shelley Williams; his step mother, Nancy Harvey; his brothers, Arnold Harvey (Teresa), William Harvey (Tabatha), Sean Harvey (Christina), George Brown, Jr; his sister, Collette Byers (Stanley), twenty-five children, twenty-nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
