Tony K Lyles

March 9, 1964 ~ July 30, 2022 (age 58) 58 Years Old

Obituary

Tony Keith Lyles or “Black” as he was affectionately known, was born on March 9, 1964 in Aberdeen, Mississippi to Maxine Baker Lyles and Eural Lyles, Jr. Tony departed this life on July 30, 2022 at the age of 58. He was preceded in death by both parents.

When Tony was a young boy, the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Tony accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was baptized at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church.

Tony was educated in the KC Public School system and was a graduate of Paseo High School class of 1982. He was united in matrimony to Shannon Pankey on December 2, 1999.

Tony owned TL Contracting where he proudly declared that there was no job too small.

There was nothing Tony loved more than his family! NOTHING! He absolutely adored his wife, children, and siblings! He was an excellent provider and EVERYONE’S protector. He was always willing to come to the aid of those around him, no matter the circumstances, distance, or price, Tony was always just a phone call away!

To know Tony was to love him. He had an infectious smile and was a jokester who got a kick out of pranking everyone he could. Tony was the life of the party, always on the dancefloor with two left feet! He was also a grill master and loved to fish.

Tony had a tough exterior but was a very sensitive man. He had a habit of calling you everyone else’s name before he could get yours right. He enjoyed his role as Paw-Paw and had a special bond with his grandboys, who he nicknamed Chico (De’Avion) and Bam Bam (Ashton). Tony had a nickname for everybody. He even had a couple of his own “Uncle Niecey Pooh” or “Uncle Dody”, as he was lovingly known by his nieces and nephews.

Tony shared an unbreakable bond with each of his siblings, especially Jerry. Tony was the Batman to Jerry’s Robin, the two were inseparable.

The memory of our beloved Tony will forever live on in the lives of his wife: Shannon Lyles; children: Ashley Lyles (Jullaion), Taylor Lyles (Markese), Tony Lyles, Jr., Tonisha Lyles, Ashley Johnson, Christopher Johnson, and Allegro Boykin; grandchildren: De’Avion, Ashton, Taniyah, Kelis, Zoei, and Camijay; siblings: Alicia Briggs (Neive) of Memphis, TN; Jerry Lyles, Tammy Anderson (Ronald) of Kansas City, MO; Bernard Morris of Nettleton, MS; Shelia Lyles-Hammons (Tony), Bridgette Lyles, Crystal Lyles, and Brian Lyles of Kansas City, MO; Eural Lyles III of Wichita, KS; Tyisha Washington and Eurick Washington of Kansas City, MO; a special nephew Brandon Baker, also of Kansas City, MO; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
