Thurma Jean Logan, 74, a native of Timpson,Texas was born to Buddy Brown and Cleopatra
Sanders on June 11, 1945. Thurma was the oldest of four children.
She was preceded in death by her father, Buddy Brown, one brother, George Dennis,
daughter, Tonia Brown-Kelly and two grandsons, Michael Brown and Julius Paul Williams.
Thurma received her formal education in the Kansas City, Missouri Public School District.
She was employed with Continental Plastics for 25 years and retired in 2005. She was
always available to her family and friends and became a child care provider after her
retirement. She loved to fish, bowl, play softball and was the biggest KC Chiefs fan. She
was the glue to our family and would host Sunday dinners, Easter egg hunts and threw the
biggest Christmas Eve parties where she played “Santa” to all family and friends, (no one
was left without a gift - invited or not).
Thurma had a heart of gold. Everyone will usually give you a second chance, but she
believed in forgiveness; so you received plenty of chances to get it right.
She accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Paradise Church in Kansas City,
MO and later joined Greater Pentecostal Temple in Kansas City, Kansas. She also belongs
to Trinity Temple Pentecostal Church in Grandview, MO.
Thurma was married to Samuel Crockett, Percy Jones and Richard Logan. Her marriages
were dissolved. Later she met her special companion Horace Alexander (her Boo).
