Theresa Woods

Theresa Arvivian Woods was born August 21, 1960 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Juanita Woods and Claude Woods Sr.  She was the fourth of five children.  Her father, mother, oldest sister Denise Renee’ Woods and grandson Lovelle Laron Woods Batie preceded her in death.

She received her education in KCMO at Southwest High School in 1979.  She also studied at Penn Valley Community College. She worked for over 28 years at the Internal Revenue Service as a processing clerk. She was baptized at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Theresa loved the Lord. She was a dedicated and active member of the " Bedroom Baptist Church" lol. She enjoyed dancing, fishing, cooking, spending time with her family and of course she enjoyed making people smile by being the life of the party.  

Theresa departed this life on Friday, February 5, 2021 at the University of Kansas Hospital. She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Curtis L Woods; four grandchildren, Iyanna Dunston, Taron Batie, Amryce Woods and Isaiah Brown; one great grandson, Delani Dunston; her Favorite brother, Bootzy (Karen) Woods of Kansas City, KS; her favorite sister, Ruth (Willie) Washington of Los Angeles, CA; her favorite sister, Reva Simmons of Kansas City, MO, along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  And let’s not forget the special sisters, brothers, and stepson from another mother.
