Sylvester E Simms Jr.

Sylvester E. Simms Jr., affectionally known to his family as "Boo," was born on May 16, 1991 in Oakland, California, to his mother, Anna Amrine –Lewis and father, Sylvester Simms Sr. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Gwendolyn Lewis and Mae Frances Simms. 

Boo attended Vallejo High School until his family relocated to Kansas City, Missouri in 2006.  Boo loved his family so much that titles such as “cousin” were not in his vocabulary.  He looked at his family as much closer, referring to them Sean, Sade and Lexus as his brother and sisters; as well as an Auntie that was more like a sister, Kelisa.  Boo enjoyed writing and begin writing at a young age.  Later he progressed his talent and applied it to his passion of rap.  He loved going to the studio to express himself and to just hang out with his friends! 

God loaned him to us for a little while but called him home on July 18, 2020.   

He is survived by his mother, Anna Amrine-Lewis (Dallas, Tx) and father, Sylvester Simms Sr (Marlynn) (Oakland, CA); grandfather, Maurie Lewis; his sisters, Porsche Ellis (Dallas, Texas), Sharice and Sanaa Simms (both of Oakland, CA); and brother, Thomas Peace (Dallas, Texas); special cousins, Sean Brown, Sade Lewis, Lexus Brown; and a special aunt, Kelisa Lewis. 

Services will be held at a private location for family only.
