Stanley L. Simmons, 79, born on June 18, 1942, in Augusta, Arkansas transitioned from this life to his heavenly home on, October 4, 2021, in the comfort of his home with family at his side.
Stanley was born to Sam Simmons and Lizzie Walter Simmons. Stanley accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at St. Luke’s Baptist Church in Augusta, Arkansas. Stanley was a member of Bethlehem Antioch Missionary Baptist church where he served as an Usher until his illness.
Stanley graduated from Carver High School in Augusta, Arkansas and moved to Kansas City, Missouri soon after graduation. Stanley was employed as an Assembler at the General Motors Fairfax Plant in Kansas City, Kansas and retired in 2000 after 30 years of service.
In June 1963, Stanley was married in holy matrimony to Beatrice Johnson of Patterson, Arkansas. To this union five children were born.
Stanley is preceded in death by his father, Sam Simmons; his mother, Lizzie Walter Simmons; two sisters, Ruby Roddy, and Barbara Weldon; and two brothers, Herschel Simmons, and Alonzo Simmons.
Stanley leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 58 years, Beatrice Simmons; 5 children, Tangerine Renee Simmons, Karen L. Walker (Kevin), Darla Y. Roberts (Paul), Stanley L. Simmons Jr. (Maria), and Reginald L. Simmons (Kendra’h); two sisters, Imogene (Ferdis “Buck”) Briscoe, and Marie Briscoe; 16 grandchildren, Madrika Robinson, Chalise Robinson and James “Ryan” Robinson, Paul V. “PJ” Roberts, Kayla Walker, Kevin Walker, Jr., Kobe Walker and Kore’ Walker, Raphael Simmons, Rueben Simmons, Gabriel Simmons, Samuel Simmons, Kameron Simmons, Khristion Simmons, Keeghon Simmons and Kiara Simmons Buchannan; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
