Shirley A. Rodriquez, 77, passed away on June 25, 2020 at Lee’s summit medical center in Lee’s summit, MO. She was born on December 1, 1942 in Cleveland, Arkansas to Sanford B. Morris and Hallie Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents Sanford B. Morris and Hallie Williams; her husband Cortez A. Rodriquez Sr. ; two sons Torrez E. Rodriquez Sr. , Cortez A. Rodriquez Jr. and grandson Montez H. Rodriquez Jr.
Shirley moved from Cleveland, Arkansas to Kansas City, Mo where she attended central high school. While attending Central high school she met the love of her life Cortez A. Rodriquez. Shirley and Cortez got married on November 7, 1977 in Kansas City, Mo where they were happily married for 42 years.
She graduated from Central high school and decided to further her education. Shirley went to college and received her LPN license. She worked at Truman medical for 35 years before retiring as a senior LPN.
Cooking was one of her favorite things to do. When it came to family gatherings or holidays, she would stay up all day and night cooking. Seeing her family happy is all that mattered to her.
Every Sunday she went to Church at Whole Truth Ministries in Grandview, Mo. she enjoyed her Church family as if they were her own.
Shirley is survived by her four daughters, Shawn Morris, Carla Lander (James), and Shikara Rodriquez-White (Marvin); one brother, Wycliffe Williams (Rita); two sisters Henrietta Holloway (James) and Yvonne Dorris. Along with a host of grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
