Sheryl Dennis

Sheryl Dennis was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on June 2nd, 1962 to Charlene Butcher of St. Jospeh, Missouri and Steven Massey of Gower, Missouri. Sheryl was the second oldest of five children and she had a very tight knit bond with her siblings. Sheryl graduated Layfayette High School in 1980. Shortly after high school Sheryl gave birth to her first child Laresha Dennis of Leavenworth, Kansas and in 1982 to her son Michael Dennis of St. joseph, Missouri.

Sheryl was a hard working, kind, and devoted mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed playing her games, cooking but most of all spending time with family and her life partner Johnathan Cherry of Kansas City. MO. 

Sheryl was preceded in death by her mother: Charlene Butcher of St. joseph, MO; father: Steven Massey of Gower, MO; bother: David Johnson of Ft. Smith, AR; grandson: Treshaun Hawkins of Kansas City, MO.

Sheryl was survived by her children: Laresha Dennis of Leavenworth, KS, Michael Dennis of St. Joseph, MO; Grandchildren: Jaden Dennis and Nyesha Hawkins of Leavenworth, KS, Tyesha and Lashelle Dennis of Milwaukee, WI, Tavion Aldrich of St. Joseph, MO, and Zakiyah Dennis of St. Joseph, MO; Great Grandchildren: Naudia James, Deandre Chiney, and Dreshaun Chiney of Leavenworth, KS, Naloni Hawkins of Arlington, TX; Sisters: Regina Dennis and Kelly Dennis of St. Joseph, MO and bother: Scott Dennis of Independence, MO as well and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Sheryl will be deeply missed by all that knew her, not only for the time spent but also for the great laughs and advice she would offer. Sheryl prided herself on being as helpful as possible and always told us to be strong and hold on, because theres always darkness, before theres light.
