Obituary
Samuel “Sam” Allen Sr. was born on March 2, 1941 in Sunflower, Mississippi and died on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at his home surrounded by loving family members. He was the eleventh (11th) child born to the union of William G and Lizzie Allen. His parents and eight (8) siblings preceded in death. Sam lived in the Kansas City area for over 60 years.
Sam was educated in the Mississippi Public Schools.
Sam accepted Christ at an early age. He was very active in his church, serving as Senior Deacon and a Usher.
After spending time in Erie, Pennsylvania, he became an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers football team. He was also fan of Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching sports with his Son in Law, Tim.
After retiring from True Value Hardware Sam spent time doing odd job until his health prevent him from doing what he loved.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving and devoted wife, Deborah Allen; daughter, Dena (Tim); son, Samuel Allen, Jr; sisters, Martha Carr (Erie, Pa); Debra Young (Venice, IL); Sarah Fry (Kansas City) and Inell Davis (Kansas City); Brother in Law, Dexter (Sonya); host of grandchildren, great grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends
