Ronald Williams Obituary

Ronald Joseph Williams was born on February 4th, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri to James Williams and Martha A. Byrd. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri where he was raised in a loving home with his mother Martha, and his father Kenneth A. Stewart.

Ronald attended Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri. After high school, he expressed himself through writing short stories, reading horror novels by novelists like Alfred Hitchcock, and watching movies like Dracula. He met the love of his life Thelma Wood at Cain Grant A.M.E. Church in the late Summer of 1961. They wed on February 2nd, 1963. In that same year, they welcomed their daughter, Tracy. Seven years later, their youngest daughter, Kimberly was born.

Ronald worked for several companies such as the United States Postal Service, Lake City Ammunition Plant, and Kansas City Area Transportation Authority. Ronald was forced into early retirement due to a debilitating illness in March of 1990 and grew more hobbies such as watching game shows like Jeopardy.

His wife, Thelma, was his caretaker until he passed away on January 21st, 2023, at Belton Regional hospital, in Belton, Missouri.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents: Jimmy Williams, Martha Stewart, and Kenneth A. Stewart; his sister: Cheryl Ann Stewart; and eldest daughter: Cheryl Goodwin, also departed before him.

He is survived by, his wife: Thelma; daughters: Tracy and Kim; five grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. In addition, six siblings: Benjamin, Naomi (Lyons), James, Kenneth Jr, Vernal; and god-brother: Dorian.
