Rachel Barbee Obituary

Rachel Wilhemena Barbee passed away on December 15th,2023 in Kansas City Kansas. She was born on January 13, 1991, to Lamont Barbee and Arnena Jones.

She grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. She graduated as Valedictorian from Washington High School. After high school, Rachel explored and excelled in several career paths including healthcare and education.

She became a certified EMT and Medical Assistant.  She attended KCKCC and earned her associate degree, later becoming a substitute teacher for the USD 500 school district and writing/publishing a children's book. Most recently, Rachel was a long-term employee of Banyan Medical Systems where she worked as a Team Lead for virtual safety companions and Octopharma plasma, where she shined as a master phlebotomist and trainer.

Rachel was a caring person, developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with her family and close friends. She was loved and adorned by EVERYONE who knew her. Rachel had so much style and a beautiful smile. She loved to shop for the coolest shoes and travel. She was a true believer in Jesus Christ and enjoyed singing in church. Rachel was a light in this world and will truly be missed.

She was preceded into death by her older brother, Lamont Clyde Barbee.

She is survived by both parents, Lamont Barbee (Brenda), and Arnena Jones; older sisters, Brittany Jones (Jeffrey), and Amy Jones-Stubblefield (Marquis); step siblings, Tamela Newman, Camela Newman, and Garry Newman; her Godson, Tone; a host of amazing friends; and her most beloved niece and nephews, Royaille, Romello, Jeffrey Jr. (Bubba), Jeleal (JuJu) and Ryan (sun-son).
