Nollie Knighten Jr., aged 64, peacefully passed away on April 9th, 2024, in Kansas City, MO. He was born on December 28th, 1958, in Kansas City, MO, to the loving parents Nollie Knighten Sr. and Maedela Waxter. Nollie spent his formative years in Kansas City, MO, where he cultivated lifelong friendships and memories.

He graduated from Southeast Senior High in Kansas City, MO, and embarked on a dedicated service to his country by joining the National Guard in September 1977. Nollie dutifully served until September 1988, achieving the rank of E4. Following his military service, he transitioned to a fulfilling career with the City of Kansas City Water Services as a Utility Supervisor. Nollie dedicated 35 years of his life to this role, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and community.

Nollie had a passion for basketball and enjoyed the excitement of friendly betting matches. On February 28th, 2004, he exchanged vows with his beloved wife, Betty Knighten, in Kansas City. Their union was blessed with 20 years of cherished memories and unwavering love.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nollie Knighten Sr., sister Rosa Lee Knighten, and daughter Brenda Knighten. Nollie is survived by his devoted mother, Maedela Waxter, loving wife Betty Knighten, and his adoring children: Tarrell Eason, Trey Knighten, Jamir Johnson, Noletta Knighten, Keosha Johnson, Nyesha Holmes (Kellen), Latisha Tyler (Jarmoe), Keosha Knighten, Donniqua Garron, and Brionna Garth. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will deeply miss his presence and warmth.
