Constance LaVern Barnett was born November 5, 1935, in Kansas City, Kansas to John Jones and Mildred Jones. Her parents, husband, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Constance received her formal education at Northeast Junior High School and Sumner High School.
She was a devoted and loving wife. Constance Jones and John Cameron Barnett, Jr were joined in holy matrimony on June 12, 1958. They remained happily married for 51 years and six months until his passing.
Constance was a loving mother and an amazing cook. She enjoyed having family and friends for dinner. Holidays were always very special at the Barnett house.
She retired from Deluxe Check Printers after 25 years of service in December 2000.
She was a member at Mount Carmel Church and served as President of the Usher Board for many years and was also a faithful member of The Mothers Board for the past five years.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Erica Barnett, Overland Park, KS; four sons; Walter Barnett, Kansas City, MO; Cedric Barnett (Carolyn), Kansas City, KS; Giovanni Barnett, Shawnee Mission; Cameron Barnett, Lenexa, KS; six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers; Emery Jones, Kansas City, KS; Hilton Howard, Los Angeles, CA; two sisters; Guinn Frazier, Overland Park, KS; Vivian Frazier-Brown (Herman) North Kansas City, MO and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends and relatives.
