Mildred Johnson, affectionately known as Jean, was born in Kansas City, MO to Hurley Merical and Clarissa E. Johnson on June 11, 1936. Both parents, six brothers, and two sisters preceded her in death. Mildred attended school in Holden, MO until her family moved to Kansas City, MO in 1950. She also attended R.T. Coles. Mildred worked in the nursing field as a CNA until she was hired at Bendex (DOE). She later retired in 2017 after working there for 22 years. Mildred joined Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ under the pastorate of the late Rev. Earl Abel and was a faithful member until her health began to fail. Mildred enjoyed her Sunday School class with Sis. Cathy Phillips. Mildred departed this earthly life on November 21, 2022, at Ignite Resort. She leaves to cherish her memory a brother, Clyde Johnson; two sisters, Isabelle (Marguerite) Turner, and Shirley Ann Wade, both of Kansas City, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
