Martez Jacoway Obituary

Martez La’Floyd Jacoway “Tez” was born in Kansas City, Missouri on March 2, 1988, to Willie Oates and Bridget Jacoway. Martez was the only son born to this union. Martez attended school in the Kansas City School District. He had gifted hands and with the training he received from Shawn Murray, he used that gift in the field of carpentry and repairing of homes. 

Martez was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Fred Jacoway Sr.; grandfather, Fred Jacoway Jr.;uncle, Fred Jacoway III; great-grandmother, Ernestine Jacoway-Noble; grandmother, Bessie Watts; and aunt,Sharon Walker.

He was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Patsy Oates; great-grandfather, Willie Floyd Oates Sr.;great-grandmother, Ruby McGee; great-great grandmother, Odessa Oates; aunt, Shanta Oates; and brother,Duan Hart.

In 2016 Martez and his soul mate Jeannise, started their own business, “NStyle Home Remodeling and Maintenance”. Teaching his sons and nephews carpentry was important to him. His goal was to leave a legacy for them. 

Martez loved his family. He would do anything for his mother and looked up to his father. He has two handsome sons, Martez and Mason with Taiyesha. Martez later met his soul mate Jeannise and they have one handsome son together, Kash “Daddy’s Stinker Man.” Martez had a special bond with Jeannise’s mother, Kim. They shared a birthday two days apart and they enjoyed traveling together. 

His nieces and nephews love their “Uncle Tez”. They will always remember what he taught them, “No Matter What, Stay Focused.” 

Martez was a fan of the Chiefs. He often enjoyed hosting Chiefs parties and barbecues at his home. He had a love for trucks, tools, and going to the shooting range. Martez will be truly missed by his family and friends. 

He leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, Willie Oates and Bridget Jacoway; three sons, Martez, Mason, and Kash; soul mate, Jeannise; grandmother, Carolyn Jacoway; aunts, Pamela Wright (Houston, Texas), Tracy Ellis, and Deborah Oates; uncles, Danny Oates (Devonna) and Marquel Jacoway (Sami); siblings, Keiana, Kalisha, Katrina Ferguson (Shawnie), Sharda, Andrea Cooley, Carta, Patrick, Antoine, Danon, Brandon, andWilliesha; childhood friend, DeAndre; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
