Martez Ellingburg Obituary

Martez Lamont Ellingburg, born on June 13, 1991, to Stevie I. Ellingburg and Marcia Foster, journeyed beyond the earthly realm on April 6, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri. Martez's life was a testament to resilience, ambition, and love.

His educational journey began in the halls of Kansas City Public Schools, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. Later, he embarked on a new chapter in Panama City, Florida, where he graced the courts as a talented basketball player for JR Arnold "Marlins." His passion for the game was evident in every dribble, every shot, and every victory.

Returning to his roots in Kansas City, Martez dedicated himself to serving his community as an Armed Security Officer with SK Security. His commitment to protecting others reflected his innate sense of duty and honor.

In the tapestry of his life, Martez was woven into the hearts of many. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Dominique Ellingburg, and sister, SonShine Ellingburg, as well as his stepfather, Tony Foster. Welcoming him into the afterlife are his maternal great-grandparents, Reno and Josephine Lewis; paternal grandparents, Eddie and Willie Bell Ellingburg; paternal grandparents, Ruby Cates and Strawder and Mary Ellis.

Martez leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by his son, Martez Lamont Ellingburg II, a beacon of his enduring spirit. He is survived by his devoted parents, Stevie L. Ellingburg and Marcia Foster, and his supportive grandparents, Robert and Julia Ellingburg, and Carl Ellis and Diane Nelson.

In the tapestry of family, Martez's presence was felt deeply, alongside his three sisters: De'Zhane Ellingburg, Shawntay Manney, and Mayah "CC" Israel (Ruben), and his two brothers: Justen Ellingburg and Aaron Foster (Renae). His legacy continues through the lives of his two nephews, Kyrie Paul and Ruben L. Israel.

Martez's journey was guided by the nurturing love of his godmother, Rosalind Qualls, and the countless bonds he shared with family and friends.

Though he has departed from this world, Martez's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were touched by his kindness, strength, and unwavering love. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration for all who knew him.
