Marcia Danita Lane (Campbell) was born on September 27, 1958, to Manley Daniel Campbell and Rowena Campbell (Green) in Little Rock, Arkansas. She grew up in Kansas City, MO from the age of 3 until her death on December 30, 2021. She was 63 years old. She accepted Christ at a young age, and renewed her faith as a Christian later in life at Kingdom Word Ministries in Kansas City, MO.
Marcia graduated from Southeast High School, class of 1976. She also received her diploma in cosmetology from Allene Jefferson Beauty School. She worked for many years of her life and for many companies, with the most prominent ones being the City of Kansas City Missouri Water Department, Time Warner Cable, and Truman Medical Center. She worked for Truman Medical Center for 20 years before she retired in 2020 as a Patient Access Representative Manager.
Marcia was married to Derrick Lane, and they had 2 daughters, Monica Lane and Marissa Lane. Unfortunately, this relationship ended in divorce, but they remained cordial. She was affectionately known as, “Nana” by her grandchildren and “Aunt Nana” or “Aunt Kookie” by her many nieces and nephews. She loved to watch movies and true crime documentaries. Her favorite movies were, The Godfather Trilogy. She also loved the color, yellow.
She is preceded in death by her father, Manly Daniel Campbell; niece, Kia Burtin; nephew, Phillip Burtin; aunts, Brenda Joyce, Sara Ann, Tessa Eunice, Betty, Francis Jean, and Darlene; and an uncle, Danny T.; and many other extended family members.
She is survived by her mother, Rowena Campbell; brother, Arthur Campbell (Tracey); sisters, Audrey Cutts (Albert), and Cassandra Campbell (Trenton Street); her daughters, Monica Lane (Tyrone Williams), and Marissa Dale (Jeffrey); grandchildren, Marius Hill, Cheyenne Williams, and Hollister Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
