Lotus V. Goodlow was born December 19, 1940, to the union of Theodore and Genevieve Buford of Kansas City, Mo. She departed this life on September 11, 2021, at KU Medical Center
Lotus was the fifth child out of ten. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Theodore, James, Charles, Richard, and Albert, and 3 sisters, Carol, Cleo, and LaRose. She was affectionately known as Lo Baby, Goodie, Goodlow, and Ma Dukes.
Lotus graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, MO. She held several jobs throughout her life. She worked for Lake City Ammunition Plant, General Motors, and El Capitan as a bar maid. She retired from Honeywell on May 5, 1991. She loved being around people, and she was well loved.
When she wasn't working, Lotus was on the fishing bank, or relaxing on the boat! She enjoyed spending long days on the boat catching fish.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who we called Granny. She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter Victoria (Vickie) Buford, Kansas City, MO; one brother, Michael E. Buford, Columbia, MO; one grandson, Stephen L. (Amy) Wedgeworth II; and great-grandchildren, Samiya, Stephen III, and Austin, Independence, MO. She also leaves a longtime friend, Wanda Rice, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
