Leroy W. Story

Leroy W. Story, 79, affectionately known as “PaPa”passed away on August 2, 2022 at Ignite Medical Resort Carondelet in Kansas City, MO.  He was born on August 11, 1942 in Kansas City, MO to Russell Story Sr. and Gertrude Story.  He grew up in Kansas City, MO.  He was baptized at an early age and attended Rock of Ages Church.

After high school he began working at the Federal Building as a cook where he worked for many years until retiring. After retiring he loved playing dominoes, watching wrestling, old cowboy movies, and visits from the grandkids. 

He married Mary Hill on May 22, 1981 in Kansas City, MO. They were happily married for 41 years. He was preceded in death by both parents, his brothers, and a sister.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; two sisters, Brenda Curtright, and Gertrude Story Benefield; one sister-in-law, Orissa Kelley-Logan; six stepchildren, Cynthia (James), Jeffery, Winerford, Orissa, Priscilla (Douglas), and Stanley (Wendolyn); 23 step-grandchildren; a host of step-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.

The family of Mr. Leroy W. Story gratefully acknowledges the many thoughtful deeds and acts of kindness rendered and sympathy shown during this time of bereavement.
