Leora D. Gantt was born on November 6, 1934 in Rural Langston, Oklahoma to Stewart Mack Sr. and Lillian Mack. Family and friends knew her as “Darlene & Mama Gantt”. Her parents Stewart and Lillian Mack, husband Caloude Gantt Sr, her son Clifford Gantt I, and eight brothers precede her in death.
Our Heavenly Father called her home on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at her place of residence.
Leora received her education at Washington school in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She later moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she worked in food services. She received Christ in her young adult life. She was a faithful member at Jamison Memorial Temple CME. Leora later joined Caloude Gantt Sr. in holy matrimony.
Leora was a very loving, caring and giving person. She never turned anyone way. She was very kindhearted and would open her home to all who needed help. She even helped raise some of her grandchildren. Leora loved to cook and would feed a total stranger. She also loved watching her boys in blue the Royals. Her laughter would light up any room and she was a very down to earth person that you could talk to her about anything. Leora was the true definition of being a strong woman through her work ethic, love and care of her family and giving to others that needed help. From her unselfish acts to her wisdom and compassion she was a gem that will forever shine in our hearts.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Mitchell Mack (Ardelia), Caloude Gantt Jr, Reginald Mack Sr., George Gantt, William Mack (Donna), Fredrick Mack (Christina), Anthony Haynes (Sheila), Juan Haynes, Mark Figous, and Phillip Mack Sr.; four sisters Ola Mae Harbin, Dorothy Murphy, Armetia Terrell and Helen Sailor; two brothers, Warren Mack (Shirley) and Stewart Mack Sr. (Betty), and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
