Obituary

LeeRoy Hines III, 47, passed away on 05/05/23 at his home in Kansas City, MO. He was born on January 30, 1976, in Kansas City, MO to LeeRoy Hines, Jr. and Cheryl Lynn Hines. He grew up in multiple places across the US. He attended Wolfson High School in Jacksonville, FL. He joined the Modern Free and Acceptance Masonic Organization, alongside his father, in 1994. He was involved in the Fade N Aces Gentlemen’s Club and Lover’s Crew. He loved entertaining his close friends in both clubs and being a loyal member to the clubs. He married Chandricka Nicole Smith in 1994 and Taylor Goodman was a gift of that union. He was preceded into death by his grandmother, Jamesetta Henry, Grandfathers – Edward Gregory, Jr., Allen Henry, and John K. McCoy, Aunts Clentie Cheeseboro and Yvonne Jackson, and best friend, Donnie Sanders.                                                                                                                                                     


LeeRoy was affectionately known as G and loved by many. He spent his childhood days running track, playing basketball, writing music, and playing around with everyone. LeeRoy was known for being a happy, friendly person that didn’t know any strangers. He enjoyed spending his adult days with his Club friends and lady friends and was dedicated to their service. He adored his special friend, Blossom Hayes, and they shared many memories together for the span of their relationship. He adored his mother, Cheryl, and would talk to her all day, every day. He loved spending time with his father, LeeRoy Jr. and often discussed life and its moments with him.                                                                                                              

He is survived by parents, LeeRoy and Cheryl Hines, grandmothers, Velva D Stewart and Druscilla Simmons, Chandricka Smith, Taylor Goodman, Siblings – Shalonda (Walter) Coppage, Kenneth Buford, LaKeisha Simmons, and baby sister, Mynaie Hines. He loved being an uncle to Jazmin and Christopher Bradley, Kenneth Buford II, DeAnthony Simmons, and he adored the younger children in his life, Censire Hayes, Maikai Caldwell, and newest grand-niece, Malani Jones. LeeRoy was the first nephew for many, he is survived by aunts, Renita Wade, Amber Garrett, Alisha Henry, Monica Ferguson, Stephanie Berry, and Theresa Smith. He will be missed by his uncles, Daniel Scott (deceased), Steven Henry, Jerome Smith, Richard Goudeau, Brian Goudeau and Darryl Goudeau. LeeRoy will be missed by a host of cousins, friends and loved ones. His First Lady, Cheryl Hines, held him in her arms for a few moments and in her heart forever.
