Leanne Johnson Obituary

Leanne Johnson 65, passed away on June 13, 2020 at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born on May 1, 1955 in Inverness, Mississippi to Tommie Lee Earvin and Mary Louise Brown-Seals.

Leanne moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1969 and graduated from Central High School.  She gave her life to Christ at an early age and later joined Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in 2015. Leanne earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Management from Park University in Parkville, MO. She retired from the City of Kansas City, Missouri as an Accountant II after 35 years of service. She is preceded into death by her father Tommie Lee Earvin, her mother Mary Louise Seals and her brother Johnnie Lee Johnson.

Leanne was a dedicated mother and grandmother first and foremost. She cherished and embraced her children, grandson, family, and friends. She loved being a grandmother to her grandson. She was big on family and loved spending time with each of them.  She had a passion and a love for traveling.  She had a big smile, a large heart and a bright energetic personality. She was the kindest person you could ever meet and she never met a stranger. She spoke and talked to everyone she came in contact with.  She had a way with words, she spoke how she felt, and she touched many lives with her generosity and her passion for life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, always thinking of others first. “To know her was to love her.”

She leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters; LaKeisha Johnson and Tilisa Johnson; one grandson Bruce Schliefert; sisters Katie Phifer, Louella Johnson, Alma Warren, Betty Price, Sally Johnson, Tressia Johnson, and Bobbie (Raymond) Jennings; brothers Randy (Dorothy) Johnson, Willie (Betty) Johnson, Robert Johnson, Will Roy Johnson, Luther (Barbara) Davis, Marzell Davis and Melvin Armstrong, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends.
