Kim Monroe Obituary

Kim D Whitney - Monroe was born May 28, 1959, to Ruth J Whitney-Wilkins and the late Robert Scott. She was proceeded in death by her late husband for over 39 years of friendship and marriage Ronald E Monroe, Father, Robert Scott two brothers Keith D Whitney and his twin Kevin G Whitney, Maternal Grandparent and Paternal Grandparents,

Kim accepted Christ at an early age attended St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Reverend B. Jones, and later she attended Emanuel Baptist church, under late the late Bishop H. White Sr. and then move her membership to Mount Carmel Church of God in Christ, K C, KS under the late Bishop Irvin Sims, where she was a member of the choir.

 

Kim was educated in the Kansas City, MO school district attending W.W. Yates, Greenwood Elementary, Central JR and completing her education at Lincoln High School. While attending Lincoln High School she was active on the Honor Roll, Social clubs and took pride being a Lincoln Tigrett .

After completing her studies at Lincoln High, she furthered her education and attended Lincoln University (Jefferson City MO) majoring in Education- While attending L U Kim took pride in Pledging a Sorority AKA (Skiweee) she also was crown   Home coming Court in 1981.and was a Lincoln Tiger Majorette. It was at L U where Kim met the love of her life Ronald E Monroe (BIG DADDY) as Kim would say. Kim and Ron where united in marriage July 4th 1987.

Kim returned to Kansas City and began her career in education working with Enrolls, Pen Valley community College, and later she and Ron moved to Louisiana, where she continue her employment with / at Xavier University until her health began to fail. Along her journey Kim impacted a lot of people, she always had a suggestion, an opinion, and would state what is on her mind. Kim never met a stranger; she was a giver, she loved to shop, bake cookies and post them to F/B and most of all she loved to talk, (for hours) She loved her Nieces, Great Niece, Nephews and Great Nephews she would spoil them rotten. She favored them all.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Ruth J Whitney -Wilkins, Brothers, Frederick L Whitney Sr. (Kansas City,) Robert Camaro Scott (Kansas City KS) Sisters Karen L Chisolm (Kansas City MO) Kelly Whitney (Raytown Mo) two Nieces Ericka Whitney (Kim’s twin), MyKela Jackson her (BFF) Nephews Brandon Whitney Sr, Brain Whitney Sr, Ronald Chisolm Jr, Ryan Chisolm, Monteen Simmons and Camaro T Scott. And a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
