Keith Anthony Hinton was born in Kansas City, Missouri on March 20, 1966 to the late Ms. Loretta Hinton and the late Rev. Johnny Johnson. His grandmother, who he loved dearly, Lois McCleod, three brothers, Johnny Johnson jr.,Jyrone and Issac Smith, great nephew, Ayden Smith, and cousin Previn Mingo preceded him in death.
He attended Westport High School. He also attended Tarkio College, where he received his Nursing Certificate after High School, he worked at various nursing homes. He loved working with people. He started singing at an early age. He was born into New Life Baptist Church. He became a choir director in the early 80’s. He was well known for his directing. He also worked with Grace Spiritual Temple Choir Bishop Charles N. Slayton Pastor, and Morning View Baptist Church Rev. J.C. Slaughter Pastor. He became the Minister of Music at Empowerment Zone Ministries Bishop C.L. Howard Pastor; He was the Minister of Music for the Western District Full Gospel Choir; he was the Jurisdictional Minister of Music for the Dunamis Interdenominational Fellowship for 5 years. He sang and or directed different Community Choirs. Carver Center Community Choir, Joy Unlimited, Keith Tribett and the Elements of Faith, Kevin Beene and Company, Isaac Presents Harmony, Ruthie William and Tribute. He also sang with Gennetta Bradley Worship Choir for 8 years. He organized a Group Church Thee Anointed Ones in September 1997. From 1997 – 2002 he was employed by New Life Baptist Church, as an Office Manager. 2002 – June 30, 2004 he worked at MLM Homeless Service Center. July 1, 2004, he started working at Women’s employment Network. In January of 2013 he relocated to Frisco, Texas taking care of his mother until her passing on January 20, 2018.
Keith Anthony Hinton departed this life on May 31, 2020 in Frisco, Texas.
Keith leaves to cherish his memories two brothers, Miguel Hinton, Kansas City, Missouri; Tyrone Smith (Chantel), Blue Springs, Missouri; four uncles, Willis Hinton (Mary), Conway, Arkansas; Kenneth Hinton (Iris), Frisco, Texas; Charles Johnson, Kansas City, Missouri; Freddie Johnson, Kansas City, Missouri; eight aunts, Evelyn Alexander, Frisco, Texas; Diane Hinton, Raytown, Missouri; Tanya Mingo, Grandview, Missouri; Sharon (Kelvin) Griffen, Kansas City, Missouri; Christine Washington, Raytown, Missouri; Teresa McKenzie, Florida; Romona (Garird) Roston, Lewisville, Texas; Lucille (Allen) McCall, Kansas City, Missouri; special cousin (Little Sister) DaShawn Hinton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
