Julia Pollard Obituary

Julia L. Pollard, 63, passed away on November 19, 2020 at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on January 22, 1957 in Kansas City, MO to Clifford L. Herring Sr and Thelma L. Herring. She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. She earned her GED from Metropolitan Community College. After High School she attended Pioneer Community College earning her Associates in English. Julia Pollard was a loving woman. Julia was a wife, mother of three and career woman. From an early age Julia was hardworking, determined and vigilantly pursued her dreams. 

Julia was employed by Research Medical Center for 19 years, she began in housekeeping and elevated to Unit Secretary while obtaining licensing in both insurance sales, financial planning and real-estate. Julia worked with Primerica Financial Services, Keller Williams Realty, The Real Estate House, as well as Apartment Search spreading her knowledge throughout her community! She enjoyed family and friends with a passion, it was often said she never met a stranger! She spread her love through cooking, counseling and laughter. Julia assumed the role of Matriarch with pride. She wore the titles Wife, Mother, Nana and Friend as a badge of honor! She loved with a fierceness like no other and will be missed, cherished and honored for the rest of our lives.

She married Hymel Pollard Sr on September 23, 1983 in Kansas City, Missouri. They were married for 37 years. She was preceded in death by Clifford L. Herring Sr {father}; Thelma L. Herring {mother}; Julia L. McKinney {grandmother}; Elliott D. Herring {Nephew}.  

She is survived by her husband, Hymel Pollard Sr.; Nijah Herring {daughter}; Hymel Pollard Jr.; {son}; Yalonda Pollard {daughter}; grandchildren, Paul R. Smith III, Terrance L. Freeman Jr., Jaylyn T.L. Freeman; siblings, Thelma J. Herring, Ptah {Clifford L. Herring Jr} Herring, Rhonda Herring, Jane Herring, Clifford L. Herring III, Renee Harris ; nephew, Xavier Herring, and host of other relatives and friends.
