Judith Maxine Jordan (Terry) of Kansas City, Missouri, relocated to her eternal mansion surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. Judith was the youngest of eight children born to Wilbur and Ella Terry in Neosho, Missouri on December 19, 1940. Her parents, and brothers Turk, Ray, Eugene, Cecil, Bob, and sister Juanita Ann Barbee preceded her from earth to Glory.
Judith graduated from Neosho High School in 1959. She received an Associate of Arts Degree from Joplin Junior College in 1961 and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Lincoln University of Missouri in 1963. She was known as a dedicated alumnus who attended many homecoming celebrations with her lifelong friend Cynthia Sese who preceded her in transition.
After graduating from Lincoln University, Judith moved to Kansas City and married Thomas J. Jordan II on July 31, 1966. As a result of their union, she gave birth to daughters Kimberly Shawnda and Judith Ann. She enjoyed an illustrious career of 39 years in the field of education in the Kansas City Public School District. Her tenure included time at Crispus Attucks, JS Chick, Switzer, C.A. Franklin, Greenwood, and George Washington Carver Elementary Schools. During her career in the Kansas City School District, she earned a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching from Webster College in 1974. She was also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in which she was recognized for her talents, skills, and service to her community.
Judith accepted Christ into her life at an early age. She was an active and longtime member of the Park Avenue Missionary Baptist Church where she served as the Superintendent of Sunday School. Judith was passionate about the education, growth, and spiritual development of all children. Although very humble and soft-spoken, her legacy of being a God-fearing servant will live on in the lives of so many.
Judith leaves behind one brother Willis Terry of Portland, Oregon, beloved daughters Kimberly Jordan, Judith Campbell (Clifton), grandchildren Jordan and Gabriella Campbell, stepsons, Jimmy
Lucas, Derrick Jones- Jordan, Thomas Jordan III (Lazora) Anthony Jordan (Patty), Freddy Jordan (Lauren) and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
