Josephine A Robins Fleming, (Mama Jo) departed this life on 5/27/2021 in Kansas City Missouri. Josephine was born on Feb.1, 1944 in Los Angeles California to Floyd and Lula Robins, she was also one of nine children. Josephine attended Douglas Elementary, furthering her education at Northwest Junior High where she received her GED. Joesphine worked for City Probation, still her passion for cooking lead her to various chef positions including lead chef at the Kansas City SkilledCenter, in her latter days Josephine and her son Arvid opened "Mama Jo's Soul food".
Josephine loved to cook and shop, she always had the best perfume and fragrances that she will forever be remembered for, besides her love for life and people she absolutely loved spending time with her grandchildren! Josephine was a faithful member of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church where she sung with the women's choir for many years.
Josephine meet the love of her life Thomas Fleming, they fell in love and began traveling the world and experiencing new ventures, they lived happily together until his heath failed and he transitioned into Glory.
Josephine was preceding in death by Floyd and Lula Robins, grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Albert Preston: three brothers, Albert F. Robins, Carl E. Robins, and Luther T. Robins, one beloved sister Floydia Merriweather, and one son Albert Burley Hayes. She is survived by her sons Arvid W. Hayes Sr. (Lareda) and Arthur Lee Hayes, one daughter Ella Denise Hayes (Michael), two sisters Izola Heard and Cherrie Hakim (Bilal), brothers, Norwood G. Robins (Gloria) Michael Robins (Marie) 10 grandchildren and one great great grandson, she also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
