Jennifer Denise “Neesie” McCoy was born October 23, 1954 in Kansas City to Lloyd and Margaret (Alee) Harrell Jr. Both her beloved parents and grandparents preceded her in death. Jennifer was educated in the Kansas City public school system and graduated from Central High School in 1973. Upon graduation she entered the workforce sharing her talent, caring heart and laughter with Tension Envelope, GEHA, the IRS; and for the past 3 years in the Kansas City Public School system at Holliday Montessori where she was lovingly and affectionately known as the ‘Lunch Lady”. Jennifer met and married Alvin McCoy on May 25, 2005. They shared 16 years of love, and companionship. Jennifer was introduced to God at an early age from attending her grandparents, Rolla and Essie Humphrey’s church, Humphrey Temple Church of God in Christ. As an adult she accepted Christ while under the leadership of Reverend Frank Selkirk and later joined Mount Pleasant Baptist Church where she remained immersed in her Christian community until her death. Jennifer returned to her heavenly home on July 25, 2021 after a valiant and hard fought battle with breast cancer. Jennifer’s devotion to her family and her firm belief in God was a source of support in her struggle and ultimately her peace. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Alvin McCoy; her daughter Jeenan Allen; granddaughter Jaia Johnson; two sisters: Tina Harrell, Sharon (Perry) Gantt; three brothers: Ricky (Karen) Harrell, Todd (Katie) Harrell, Wendell (Wachinda) Harrell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.
