James Howard Union “Gentle Giant”, 56, of Kansas City, Kansas. He was born on August 18, 1965 in Kansas City, Kansas to Lee Tinsley and Rosie Hunter. He was the oldest of three children.
James accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Harmon High School in KCK and graduated in 1983. He was very athletic and played many sports to include wrestling, football, and basketball. He was a huge football fan and loved the Kansas City Chiefs. Upon his graduation he entered the United States Navy. He served on the USS of Wichita and the USS of Missouri. He was honorably discharged after ten years of service and went on to work for Lansing Correctional Facility. From there he went to work for Owens Corning and CSM Bakery until he fell ill.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Tinsley and brother Chris B. Union. As well as, his grandfather Howand Union and Aunt Eddis Union.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Rosie M. Hunter of Kansas City, Kansas; one brother, Mike Tinsley of same origin; two sisters, Diana R. Union-Grayson (Charles) of Grandview, Missouri and Nicole Tinsley (Gary) of Kansas City, Missouri; out of the union with Velma Union he had two daughters, Jasmine E. Union and Peterce N. Lewis (Roosevelt); two grandsons Daiveon Reed and Kyren Reed; his fiance Brenda Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
