Henrean Newman Obituary

Henrean Newman passed away on March 7, 2023, in her home in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on November 9, 1938, in Goodman, MS to Henry and Emma Mabry. She grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Manual High School. Henrean worked at Sears Roebuck & Co. for over 30 years. She married Paul Newman on December 5, 1957, and was happily married for 56 years until his passing.

Above all, Henrean loved God. She accepted Christ at an early age and believed God showed her favor in her life because of her obedience and faithfulness. She stood on the promise of God that “He will never leave you nor forsake you…” He will supply all your needs; He will answer all our prayers and He forgive our sins. She believed when we truly love God, we will serve Him, we will obey Him, we will trust Him, we will worship Him, we will give to Him, we will defend Him, and we will be willing to suffer for Him. She had a passion for life, and she lived a good life. She loved helping and serving others. She was a mother, a friend, and a mentor to all.

Henrean attended Spirit of Faith & Praise Family Worship Center. She was a past member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Saint Monica’s Catholic Church and Calvary Temple. Henrean had a passion for cooking and DIY projects. She loved shopping and enjoyed the finer things in life, music, watching Westerns and going to the casino from time to time. Henrean loved sharing her knowledge and wisdom with children of all ages. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. Daily she loved reading her Bible with a good cup of coffee. Henrean always spoke her mind openly out of love.

She had a deep abiding love for her family. She was preceded into death by both parents, her husband Paul R. Newman Sr., daughter Paula Renee Newman-Counce, and her sisters Annie Laura Lyman and Mary Dee Summers.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters: Carmelita and Tracie Newman of Kansas City, MO; two sons: Paul Newman Jr. of Kansas City, MO and Stephen Newman of San Antonio, TX; one special son: Ronald Roland of Kansas City, MO. Ten grandchildren: Andre Newman, Crystal McDonald (Brandon), Brian Newman, Leisha Newman, Paul Newman III, Julian Thompson, Timothy Griddine Jr., Stephen Newman Jr., Angel Newman, and Emilio Newman. Six great grandchildren: Jade Newman, Kellen Newman, Amari McDaniel, Xander McDaniel, Quincy Newman, Lyrick Newman and one sister-in-law: Lauri Newman-Williams (Ronnie) of Dallas, TX and a host of other relatives and friends.
