Gloria Ann Kitty Watkins (Johnson) was born to Olden Abraham Johnson & Nina Bell Johnson on Monday August 28, 1944. She departed from this life on Sunday July 4, 2021. She was the youngest of 12 children.
She attended the Kansas City public school district where she graduated Paseo High School. After graduating High School she married to Willie (Sonny) Dexter Watkins. To this union 4 children were born. Wilfred Ronald Watkins, Valecia Ann Watkins, Tamara Lanise Henry (Watkins), and Glorita Tanise Watkins.
Gloria was a proud member of the St. Stephens Baptist Church. She was employed at Sears Call Center, Western Electric and Woodland Hills Race Track. She will be remembered most for her unwavering faith and love for GOD, her unconditional love for her family and friends, her magnificent cooking and baking, and her witty sense of humor which she kept up until near the end of her life.
Preceding her in death were: her parents: Nina Johnson (Wright) & Olden Jonson; her husband: Willie (Sonny) Watkins; her daughter: Valecia Watkins); 11 of her 12 siblings: Aaron Johnson, Anna Loretta Johnson, Eunice (Patterson) Johnson, Olden (Bell) Johnson Jr., Raymond (Chubby) Johnson, James (Sonny) Johnson, John (Dickie) Johnson, Joey Johnson, Nina (Tot) (Jackson) Johnson and Douglas (Doug) Johnson.
She leaves to remember her 3 children: Wilfred Ronald Watkins, Tamara Lanise Henry (Watkins), and Glorita Tanise Watkins; one daughter-in-law: Joni Marie Watkins (Gill); one son-in-law: Hale (Ray) Ray Henry; one sibling: Mary (Babysista/Mae) (Brown) Johnson; eight grand-children: Kendrick Dexter Watkins, Hale (Chuncky/Ray J.) Ray Henry Jr., Raeann (Princess) Lachelle Henry, Rayquan (Charlie) Charles Henry, and Raymond (Moses) Henry, Kiera Jackson, Marcus Devonte Jones, and Malcolm Ronald Jones; One great-grandchild: Carson Talyor Watkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
