Georgia Mae Givan, 73, passed away on November 11, 2020 in Kansas City, Kansas. Georgia was born on August 25, 1947 in Independence, MO to Russell C. Hill Sr., and Maggie L. Hill. Georgia graduated from Manuel High School in KCMO. After high school she attended Donnelly College in Kansas City, KS, where she received an Associates Degree in Early Childhood. Georgia Began work for Franklin Children’s Center as an Assistant Director where she worked for 8 years. She retired in 2000 after 12 years. Georgia was involved in Foster Grand Parents Program. She later married James Givan Sr., on August 14, 1979 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. They were happily married for 37 years.
Georgia was preceded into death by her father; Russell C. Hill Sr., mother; Maggie L. Chambers -Hill-Wells, brothers; WC Stuckey, Lewis B Stuckey, and Florence Stuckey-Hill, Husband; James Givan Sr, son; James Givan Jr, Antonio Hill, Thomas Givan, granddaughter Ayanna Hill.
Georgia is survived by her daughters; Damita Hill-Burnett (Robert Burnett), Cassandra Saulsberry, Jamie Hill-Sanchez (Alberto Sanchez), Marla Hill, Marquitta Givan, sisters; Theresa Duke, Viola Simmons, and Elvia Brown, brothers; Russell C. Hill Jr., Lolester Hill, Joe Hill-Bey, Willie Hill, and Sammy Hill, 35 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, each grandchild held a special place in Georgia’s heart and her grandchildren meant everything to her. A host of other relatives and friends.
