Geneva Maxine “Max” Winn was born March 31, 1936, in Yakima, WA, to Emory and Millie Harris Chisholm. She was one of three children. Both parents and two brothers, Joy Edward Moore and Floyd Taylor, and son-in-law Allen Moore preceded her in death.
Maxine spent some of her childhood in WA and later moved to Springfield, MO, where she graduated from high school, and met and married Darrell Coker. To their union, four children were born. Maxine and Darrell moved to Kansas City, MO, in 1956. She graduated from nursing school in Kansas City, MO, and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at several area hospitals.
Maxine was a woman who loved the Lord and her family. She was affectionately known as “Nanny” to all. Nanny believed that life should be lived to the fullest and tried to share that outlook with those she encountered. Those who knew her, loved her sense of humor and her willingness to point you in the right direction whether you were 8 or 88!
Maxine leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Lachelle Moore of Kansas City, MO; Darrell Coker, Jr. (Patricia) of Kansas City, MO; Reginald Coker (Eva) of Kansas City, MO; Ronda Coker of Kansas City, MO; two nieces, Janet Taylor of Richmond, CA; Sharon Crayton of Dallas, TX; and nephew, Derrick Taylor of Richmond, CA; twelve grandchildren, Candace Stone, Aaron Harris (Victoria), Ira Moore (Anita), Neva Moore, Tionna Wilson (Edward), Amber Blaise (David), Brandy Coker, Alicia McFarlin (Jacolby), Phillip Williams, Tiara Coker, Natasha Coker, Maya Coker), twenty-five great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
