Frances Roberta Phillips-Johnson was born on October 29, 1943, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Johnny W. Phillips and Frances Calhoun Phillips.
She accepted Christ at a very early age, and attended First Baptist Church in Shreveport. She later moved to Kansas City, Missouri and joined Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. About that time, she met Milton H. Johnson, and later they were married in 1966. To this union two children were born, Jon E. Johnson and Milton D. Johnson.
She worked in healthcare as a nurse for many years. She was an avid seamstress and made many customers happy in Shreveport and Kansas City.
She was preceded in death by both parents, Johnny William Phillips (JW) and Frances Calhoun Phillips, and one brother, Andrew W. Phillips (AW).
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of the home, Milton H. Johnson, of 55 years; two sons, Jon E. Johnson and Milton D. Johnson; two grandchildren, Alysia S. Madison (Markel), Jayden J. Johnson, all of Kansas City, MO; one brother, Jay Michael Philip (Kay), of Shreveport, LA; one sister, Wanda Faye Phillips, of Plano, TX; one sister in-law, June Phillips of Shreveport, LA; three nephews, Roderick V. Phillips, Jonathan Phillips (Shauna), of Shreveport, LA, Philip D. Allen (Taryn), of Saginaw, TX; one niece, Camille Bowe of Shreveport, LA; close cousins, Bishop Willie Herman Phillips (Sharon) and Joyce Raby of Shreveport, LA; one step daughter, Lervetta Michelle Henderson and her children, Tonisha Couser-Willis (Cadario), Demetrius Shelton, and Darius Henderson, all of Olathe, KS; nine great grandchildren and a host of other loving friends and family members.
