Elizabeth Howard was born in Hughes, Arkansas on April 8, 1943 to the late Hosea Gant and Lousie Hall. She departed life February 8, 2021.
She is preceded in death by her father Hosea Gant, mother Lousie Hall, stepfather Rev. George Hall, two sisters Lenora Jones, and Shirley Edwards, Husband Gennie Howard, son in law Gregory Ray and two grandchildren Kevin Forman and Donald Donato (JR).
Elizabeth accepted Christ at an early age in Hughes, Arkansas. She left Arkansas and moved to Kansas City, MO where she became a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Frank Williams. She was a member of a prayer line group for over 40 years. She was faithful member at church until her health failed her. She was the president of the mother board and was a member of the Choir.
While living in Kansas City she worked at General Hospital 2/ Truman for over 20 years as a laundry attendant. She had a beautiful soul and would take in and care for people in need. She loved the Lord and cooking.
She married Gennie Howard, and to this union six children were born.
She leaves to cherish her children four daughters Barbara Gholson-Weatherspoon (Clinton) of Arkansas, Rosalind Howard (John), Patricia Rivers, Debra Howard-Ray (the caregiver) all of Kansas City. Two sons Genie Howard (Keko) and Raymon Howard (Rapiona) of Kansas City, MO. One brother James Gant of West Memphis. A special nephew Robert King (Yvonne) and niece Mildred Moore of Memphis. 22 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
