Ebony Starr Jones

March 12, 1980 ~ January 17, 2020 (age 39)

Obituary

Ebony "Starr" Jones was born March 12th, 1980 in Kansas City, MO to John Turner Jr. and Regina M. Jones.

She was the baby and only girl of three siblings born to her mother and the third of five born to her father.

Starr accepted Christ at a young age and was originally baptized at Starlight Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. However, she felt compelled to be baptized an additional 2 times throughout her life, in Kansas City and Texas. Ebony was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri School District. She received her GED in Arlington, Texas while at the same time pursing and obtaining a Massage Therapist license through Cortiva Institue for Massage Therapy in 2018.

There was never a dull moment with Starr. A one of a kind spirit, she was known as the life of the party, commanding attention in every room she entered. A true diva in her own right, she will be remembered for her sense of style, her one of a kind dancing (let's not forget those stunning legs!) and her joy for entertaining.

Ultimately, Starr will be remembered for the way she loved her family. A devout daughter, sister and mother, she was voted "the mascot" of the Jones family because of the way she cherished each and every member in her own special way. That love was also extended to those she met.  There was never a hungry stomach or a broken spirit in her presence. You could always find comfort in her hugs and joy in the warmth of her smile. Her energy and strength will be terribly missed by those who knew and loved her.
