Dwight Gibson was born to the late I.V. Gibson Sr. and Ida Mae Gibson, in Okay, Oklahoma on January 11, 1947. Dwight was the third of 9 siblings (4 boys 5 girls).
He was united in holy matrimony to Lula Mae Robins on April 22, 1969. He received his education in the Kansas City, Missouri school district. During his younger years he enjoyed building go carts and as he got older, he enjoyed rebuilding motors and transmissions in cars. He was a Golden Glove champion in the late 60’s and early 70’s. Dwight also enjoyed playing bid whist and going fishing. He loved his family and friends and would spend hours just enjoying their company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, late wife, Lula Mae, son, Dwight Gibson Jr. and 4 siblings, Margie Monroe, I.V. Gibson Jr., Kenneth Gibson, and Carlos Gibson.
After a long battle with his health, he left a legacy of love to his family and friends to carry on and cherish his memories his daughter Sheila Renae Gibson, grandchildren, Oasha Robinson (Hugh), Bryan White, Devani Gibson, Destani Gibson, Dwight Gibson II, (7) great grandchildren, and 4 siblings Anna Taylor, Marietta McConnell, Sheila Yvonne Gibson & Claudia Perryman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Sunset came for Mr. Dwight Gibson on November 12, 2022, peacefully. He was tired, yet strong, fighting until the end at the home of his daughter, Sheila Renae Gibson. He will be greatly missed.
Dwight was a man of a few words and NEVER complained!!!
