Dorothea Larkins

Dorothea Larkins began her life April 2,1941 in Luxora, Arkansas. Her Savior called her home February 13,2021. Dorothea graduated from George Washington Carver Southside High School in Luxora Arkansas in 1959.

She worked at K. U. Medical Hospital in Kansas City, KS where she retired in 1998.
 She was a foster parent to a lot of children. She was also an active member of the Ivanhoe Community Center on 37th and Woodland in Kansas City, Mo. where once a year she would have a bar-b-q for the Ivanhoe Police Dept.

She was happily married to James Lee Larkins for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents: Willie and Virgia(Shaw)Harris; brothers: Willie James, Melvin, and Joe Willie Harris; sister: Stella Harris; her son: James Larkins Sr; her daughter: Callia Larkins; and her grandson: James Larkins Jr.

Those left behind to cherish her memory with love and joy are her children: Delores Larkins, Nikki Larkins, Michele Strong Terrill Larkins, Ti'Esha Larkins, and Sidney Larkins who all reside in Kansas City Mo; her brother: Larry Harris Kansas City,Mo); two sisters: Dorothy Diggs(Chicago Ill)Earnest Mae Robinson(Kansas City,Mo.); and her 18 grandchildren: LaRonda Larkins, Antione Nunn, Quincy Reliford, Donzell and Ebony Green, Malcom REliford, Sheena Porche Doneshea Larkins, Michael Young III, Montel Young, Davione McHenry, Lamont Turner, Monique Dunn, Vicktoria Strong, Essence Larkins, Jayden Birden, Lailey Birden-Larkins, E'Yiona Larkins, E'Liyah Simms. She also leaves behind her best friends Mary Bailey, Ruthie Simmons and Jessie Collin, and a host of other relatives and friends.
