Dorothea Hill

Dorothea Yvonne Hill passed away on May 9, 2023, at Saint Luke's Hospice in Kansas City,Missouri. She was born on June 13, 1959, in Kansas City, KS to the late Lovell and Levern Flowers. She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated with her general education diploma. She worked for Shawnee Mission School as a custodian for 25 years. She retired in June 2021 after 25 years of employment.

Dorothea enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Being with her great grandchildren brought so much joy and happiness. She adored them and loved talking about them to anyone that would listen.

Dorothea is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Perry and Viola Gorden; Paternal grandparent, JoNathan and Earnestine Flowers; one sister, Delores Benjamin.

Dorothea is survived by two daughters, Cantrice Flowers and Kisha Flowers of Kansas City; one son Lovell Flowers of Davenport; three brothers, Robert Gorden of Kansas City, Harman Vinson of Tennessee, Lovell Johnson of St. Louis; five sisters, Myrtice Jackson of Plano, Jacqueline James (Michael) of Lee’s Summit, Deborah Flucker and Danny Hill (Charles) of Stuttgart, and Linda Johnson of Houston, eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, husband, Lloyd Hill, and a host of family and friends.

No one could love like her

She was truly one-of-a-kind and lived for her children and grandchildren. How did our family get so lucky to have her? They say some people only walk this earth for a short time. Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us. I know she is one of those angels who will forever be watching her family.
