Doris Davis Obituary

On April 16, 2021 Mrs. Doris Louise Davis, passed away at the age of 86. She was surrounded by her family at home, just as she wanted.

Doris was born January 28, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri; she was the only child born to Montoria Whittler-Foster and Milton Foster. After completing R.T. Cole high school she attended nursing school at General hospital. She started her career assisting patients in the OB-GYN department at General hospital. Years later she took on the position of Custodial Fireman for the Kansas City School District. After more than 30 years of service she retired from Cook Paint.

Doris married the love of her life Clarence Davis in 1977 and together they shared a lifetime of memories, love and four children, Montoria, Sherry, Gerrod and Kent.

Her children reflect on her faith and unconditional love she showed her family. Her heart was filled with joy when her grandchildren would come by. They always left with chocolate or some small gift as a token of love. Her favorite quotes were, “God doesn't like ugly, but he's not too fond of pretty either’ or “you reap what you sow”. Her place of worship was Forest Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Montoria Whittler-Foster; father, Milton Foster; daughter, Montoria Flemmings (Jesse); son, Kent Davis. She leaves behind her daughter Sherry Jackson (Virgil) and son Gerrod Davis (sharion). A host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her favorite cousin Juanice Dennis and her best friend Catherine Oxner.
