Crystyn Elyze Campbell was born April 26, 2001. She was the only child of Crystal Campbell. Before birth, her family knew she would have birth defects. Crystyn spent 5 months in the hospital and had a diagnosis of Arthrogryposis. Her nerve endings extended one inch from her spine. The doctors said she would never speak, move, or breathe on her on. Crystyn’s drive, tenacity, and God’s grace allowed her to overcome the prognosis.
Crystyn was a Girl Scouts. She loved acting, singing, and dancing in productions at In The Light Performance Center of Peculiar. This love and experience led her to productions and the choir at Ray-Pec. Crystyn was a cheer manager at the high school and middle school. She was a student council member and on the forensic team. She was an honor roll student graduating in 2019. She entered UMKC’s Psychology program in the fall of 2019. She was a junior at UMKC at the time of her passing.
Crystyn loved her family dearly and cherished her friends. Her every encounter with them elicited her biggest smile and words of encouragement. All who knew her loved her. On April 29, 2022, Crystyn passed into Glory at CenterPoint Hospital in Independence, Missouri. Crystyn Campbell is survived by her mother, Crystal Campbell of Kansas City, her grandmother Joyce Garrett, her grandfather Larry Clark Sr., her uncle Larry Clark Jr., and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
