Crecia Bates

November 10, 1983 ~ July 24, 2022 (age 38)

Obituary

Crecia’s life began November 10, 1983, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the first child of two parents, Ronald Bates Sr., and Carolyn D. Bates. Crecia was raised in the Kansas City Metropolitan area, and she graduated from Ruskin High School in 2002. Crecia furthered her education at Missouri Western University in St. Joseph, Missouri and online at Arizona State University.  Crecia was full of life, and love. There was never a dull moment when in her presence and she had the ability to always make others smile. She was well known for her witty sense of humor and her many facial expressions.

From childhood, she was an active member of Memorial Church International under the leadership of Apostle Larry B. and Pastor Olivia C. Q. Aiken. She served Memorial Church faithfully in several capacities such as the Choir, Youth Ministry, Hallelujah Night Coordinator, Hebrews Café, Pastoral Anniversary Committee, Sound Ministry and the Praise Team. She was determined to give her best to anything that she committed to, and she never complained about arriving early, or staying late just to make sure that the job got done.

Throughout her career Crecia held several positions.  She was employed at US Bank, Centrinex, Quest Diagnostics and Mazuma Credit Union. She was known for her dependability and strong work ethic.

Crecia truly loved family. She was blessed with one son, CamRon Davis Bates and he was her life.  She gave life to the term “Boy Mom”. She was involved in every aspect of his life and her wishes are for him to attend an HBCU.  She was also very active with Della Lamb Sports and served as an administrator. She had a passion for young people and they were drawn to her. She did her best to pour into them love and positivity.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Charlie and Pricilla Jones; Uncle, Milton Jones; Aunts, Sandra Hawkins, and Tara Richardson.

She is survived by her son CamRon Davis Bates, Parents; Mother Carolyn Bates, Father Ronald Bates (Tammy), Brother; Ronald Bates, Jr. (Ashlee), Grandparents; Curtis Bates(Pearl), along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
