Christine D Hardaway

Ms. Christine Hardaway was born to the union of Earmon and Ammie Mae Hardaway on August 10, 1944.  She was preceded in death by both parents; 2 sister- in- law’s, Irene Hardaway and Cynthia Hardaway.  Ms. Christine departed her life on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Armour Oaks Skilled Living Facility.

Christine enjoyed talking and meeting new people.  You could count on her asking you at least 20 questions to get to know you better.  Christine loved her family, church family and helping whenever needed. Christine worked and retired from Western Electric with over 25 years of service. Her compassion and laughter will never be forgotten.

Christine accepted Christ and was baptized (Greene Lake) at First Baptist Church in Holly Grove, Arkansas by her grandfather the late Rev. William H. Hardaway.  Christine moved to Kansas City, MO in the late 1960’s.  In the early 1970’s she started attending church with her sister-in-law Irene and then shortly thereafter united with Metropolitan MB Church under the leadership of Wallace S. Hartsfield, Sr.  and continued to serve under the leadership of Wallace S. Hartsfield, II.  Christine remained a faithful member until her health started to decline.

She leaves the following to cherish her loving memory: Her daughter, Cynthia Byes (Kansas City, MO); 1 granddaughter, Jamesha Byes (Oklahoma City, OK); 2 brothers; Thurman Hardaway and Willie Earl Hardaway, Sr. (Both of Kansas City, MO); 3 nieces, LaCreshia Goode (Thomas), LaKeita Hardaway and Pamela Cobbins (Cleotis) (All of Kansas City, MO); 1 nephew, Willie Earl Hardaway, Jr. (Khadijah) (Raytown, MO) and a host of cousins and friends.
