Carol Jones Obituary

Carol Yvonne Jones was the youngest of 8 children born on February 8, 1966 to Saul Jr. and Leeanna Jones in Kansas City, Missouri. Carol was proceeded in death by her father Saul Jones Jr., brothers Carnel Jones and Carl Jones, nephews, Lee McAdoo and Christopher Maddox, both paternal and maternal grandparents. 

On Friday, March 20, 2021, Carol Jones, loving partner, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend gained her wings.

Carol was baptized and became a member of Greater Mount Zion Missionary Baptist church in 1974-75 She received her education in the Greater Kansas City School district and was a Class of 1984 graduate of Westport Senior High School. During her time there, she was a member of JROTC, the Junior Varsity and Varsity Basketball teams which ultimately earned her a basketball scholarship. Her love for basketball continued into adulthood where on any given day you would find her watching a game with the children of the family.  Carol also had a strong passion for music and watching cooking shows, but more than anything, she loved family and children. She dedicated her life to raising, teaching and molding the children in her family. Loving them as if they were her very own. Carol’s greatest gift to the world was being a haven of endless amounts of care, kindness and love for anyone she encountered.

Carol was employed with several companies in the Kansas City Metro area. Her last and most rewarding job before her health began to fail was being a caretaker for her beloved Mother, Leeanna. 

Carol is survived by her mother Leanna Jones, lifelong companion Sheila D. Coppage, two brothers, Carter Lee Jones of Kansas City, Saul Jones III of Colorado, three sisters, Betty Jones of Minneapolis, Peggy Jones-James (Alvin James), Carla McAdoo (Jimmy McAdoo) of Kansas City, special friend Cookie Edwards, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, cousins, and many God Children. Carol will truly be missed by the lives she touched with her sweet and resilient spirit and her memory will be forever cherished.
