Brenda Gordon Obituary

Brenda Diane Gordon was born March 22, 1952 in Kansas City, MO to Anderson Mitchell and Mary Burns (both precedes her in death). She received Christ at the age of 7 and continued her service to the Lord throughout her life. She was a member of Sacred Missionary Church at the age of 10 were she served on the usher board, choir, pastor aid and missionary work.  She later joined Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Elijah Clark Jr., where she served wherever needed.

She married her teen sweetheart, Ulysses Gordon at the age of 17 and to that union had Charmain and Michael Gordon. She later married Reuben Oates and to that union had Kimberlyn. She received her education in Kansas City, MO and Graduated in California. She was a very hard working, determined, straightforward and persistent person. She worked in the fields of childcare, health care and food services. She retired from Healthcare in 2020 when her health started to decline. She was a person that loved family, enjoying life and took every moment to spend time with her family no matter where they lived. She enjoyed being supportive to others and would make sure you knew that she cared.

She leaves three children, Charmain M. Hunter (LeRoy) of Richmond, CA, Michael T. Gordon (Nikki) of Sacramento, CA, Kimberlyn R. Davis (Desmond) of Kansas City, MO, Stepson, William Oates.  4 sisters, Dorothy Kidd (Tommie) who precedes her in death, Ernie Mae Holmes (Henry) Oakland, CA, Reba Gibson of Antioch, CA, 10 Grandchildren, Dominique Rivera, Precious Gordon, Mikia Roberson, Desmond Jr., Michael Gordon Jr., Kalyn Davis, Kae’Ronn Davis, Dae’Ronn Davis, Mikal Gordon and Malik Gordon, 7 Great Grandchildren and a host of other relatives, friends and extended family.
